COMPANY HISTORY

The company Kazeto was found in 1925 by Mr Karel Zejda (this is where the name comes from: KArel ZEjda TOvárna). Since 1926 Kazeto has been protected by the state brand KAZETO and concentrated on production of suitcases and travel bags made of leatherette and textile.
The factory was very successful in possession of unique equipment for producing all components suitable for complementation, that is why it was absolutely self-sufficient at that time. In 1948 the factory was nationalized.

That time the majority of the production of the travel bags was aimed at the markets of former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. To solve the insufficient production of cardboard a new hall with a new production line was built in 1971.

The long process of privatization started after 1989. During this time the most of the markets were lost. The process of privatization was quite complicated. In 1992 the former owners presented their own privatization project in contrary to other 2 projects. In the end their project won however the process of privatization was extended until 1997.

The official work of the former owners in the company started in 1997. It was a difficult time, they needed to replace the lost markets and find new ones and to ensure the functioning of the factory. Because of the great competition in the field of travel bags the company paid its attention to production of cardboard goods.

The owners succeed in gaining new business partners and in keeping the company going. Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Scandinavian countries belong to the most important territories for export. Also the sales in domestic market is of great importance.

The company belongs to one of the biggest supplier of IKEA stores. This fact ensures great experience in foreign trade and the company is able to produce 1st class quality goods for a reasonable price.
